Jack Ryan was born in Clemson, South Carolina. While in South Carolina, Jack was the guitar and mandolin protege of Jimmy Rogers, who was known as the Godfather of Music and the fastest guitar player in the southeast. Jack was also the five-string banjo protege of Charles Wood, who won the National Banjo Championship five years in a row and also served as actor Steve Martin’s banjo teacher. Jack was also the plectrum banjo protege of Benjamin Johnson IV, who was the star pupil of Perry Bechtel, the number one four-string banjo player and number three guitar player in the world during the first half of the 20th centuryIn 2013, Jack moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he became the house guitar player for many of Nashville’s world-famous honky tonks including Tootsie’s, Rippy’s, Honky Tonk Central, Second Fiddle, The Stage, The Valentine, and Paradise Park. During this time, Jack became known as having the “Fastest Fingers on Broadway” as dubbed by Twilight’s Taylor Lautner. While in Nashville, Jack played on stage and toured with Steven Tyler, Kid Rock, Vince Gill, Montgomery Gentry, Dierks Bentley, The Swon Brothers, Hank Williams III, Rhonda Vincent, and Larry Gatlin of The Gatlin Brothers. Jack Ryan’s band was the featured band for Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan’s private CMA Party in 2016. Jack’s experience includes: 17 years playing music and 11 years teaching experience with over 5,500 former students. Jack plays and teaches acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin, violin/fiddle, viola, cello, upright bass, electric bass, five-string banjo, plectrum, banjo, tenor banjo, ukulele, dobro, lap steel guitar, accordion, piano, and drums.

Doug Pettibone: Guitar player with John Mayer/Lucinda Williams/Jewel/Tracy Chapman/Lisa-Marie Presley and many others

Doug Pettibone started to play the guitar at the age of eight. His first teacher was Andy Summers, formerly of The Police. With nine years, Doug studied with Eddie Lafreniere, guitarist for big band leader Jimmy Dorsey, with whom he spent the next five years studying the music of Dave Brubeck and Duke Ellington. Later he received a scholarship to Pepperdine University-Malibu for Jazz Guitar, Classical Guitar and Voice, graduating with a triple major in 1984. In the following years he played with many different artists of various genres. In 1999, Doug started a world tour with Jewel that lasted for a year and a half. In 2001, he played pedal steel, mandolin and background vocals for Tracy Chapman's North American tour. Shortly after that, Lucinda Williams hired Pettibone as her multi-instrumentalist, singer and music director to tour, record, and co-produce. Doug´s intensive collaboration with Lucinda lasted for eight years, and continued at a later stage again. In the following years, Pettibone realized several projects with other artists. In 2004 Doug participated in the Legends Rock TV show produced in the South of France, featuring guest artists such as Sam Moore, Billy Preston and Tony Joe White. Ray LaMontagne is amongst the artist Doug went on tour with, in 2009 it was Marianne Faithfull who called him up to go on tour. After that Marianne Faithfull and Doug Pettibone started to write together new songs for a new album. In the last few years, Pettibone has played live and/or recorded with some of the most influential artists of our times, among them Keith Richards, Norah Jones, Steve Earle, Elvis Costello, Joan Baez, Mark Knopfler, Draco Rosa, Sting, Michelle Shocked, Vic Chesnutt, Kevin Montgomery, amongst others. In 2012 he went on tour with Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis Presley. In 2013 Pettibone toured with Lucinda Williams with just the two of them on stage. He joined John Mayer's touring band as lap steel and guitar player for the Born and Raised 2013 World Tour. 2016 Doug is on World Tour with the Italian Zucchero - accompanied by Brian Auger on Hammond Organo.

Josh Smith was born October 7, 1979 in Middletown, Connecticut. Before he was 1, his family relocated to Florida, eventually settling in Pembroke Pines, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale. At age 3, he received his first guitar and at 6, he started taking guitar lessons. Josh was exposed to the blues at an early age. He listened to a variety of artists, such as Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Albert King and T-Bone Walker. He also started going to concerts, including the Allman Brothers, Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen. By 12, Josh was playing at established professional blues jams in South Florida, such as Musicians Exchange Café in Fort Lauderdale and Club M in Hollywood, FL. Josh began sitting in with such greats as Jimmy Thackery, Tinsley Ellis, Kenny Neal, Lucky Peterson, Matt “Guitar” Murphy, Johnny “Clyde” Copeland, Double Trouble, Joanna Connor and Kim Simmonds, among others. Jimmy Thackery said of the 14-year-old, “Josh is three heartbreaks away from being a true blues guitar genius.” At 14, Josh released his first CD, Born Under a Blue Sign, and at 15, he released his second CD, Woodsheddin. Although Josh was an honor student, after graduation from high school in June 1997, Josh followed his heart and began pursuing what he was best at. His first national tour ensued with his newly formed power trio, Josh Smith and the Frost. Josh was now the band leader and vocalist, so he not only had to continue developing his guitar chops, but had to concentrate on his vocals. In September 1997, Josh enlisted world-renowned producer Jim Gaines, whose credits include Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Luther Allison, Steve Miller and Jimmy Thackery, to produce his third CD, Too Damn Cold. By 1998, Josh had completed four national tours with his band. In February 1998, Josh was asked to support B.B. King on a number of theatre dates. Josh toured nationally all of 1999 and in October of that year, he entered the recording studio again with Jim Gaines and produced Woman, his fourth CD. This CD was released and well received in the spring of 2000. Josh continued to tour the East Coast from New York to Florida through 2001 with his band. In June 2002, he married and he and his wife moved to Los Angeles. Josh was ready for something new and wanted to be around a variety of musicians. He also wanted to begin working as a sideman. Within a year of moving to L.A., he was retained by Virgin recording artist Ricky Fante. He played nationally and internationally with Ricky for the next two years. In May 2006, Josh recorded his fifth CD, Deep Roots. A more traditional blues CD, his music was once again well received by Blueswax and Blues Revue magazine. Josh continued to play with a variety of artists, such as actress Taryn Manning, Universal hip-hop artist Benny Cassette and Tara Ellis, to name a few. In January 2007, Josh was hired by 2006 American Idol winner Taylor Hicks to be his lead guitarist. They completed two national tours from February-September 2007 with monthly dates and charity events until June 2008 when Taylor started Grease! on Broadway. In July 2008, Josh was hired by Raphael Saadiq. Since that time, Josh has played such high profile gigs with Raphael as backing Mick Jagger at the Grammy Awards in 2011 and the Kennedy Center Honors in December 2011. Josh continues to tour as needed with Raphael. Josh released his 6th studio CD, “Inception,” in 2009. This is an all-instrumental CD with a variety of genres that was once again well received by the public and critics alike. In 2010, Josh was signed to Crosscut Records, a label based out of Germany. Crosscut re-released Josh’s CD, “Deep Roots,” as “I’m Gonna Be Ready.” In October 2012, Josh’s CD, “Don’t Give Up On Me,” was released in Germany. That was followed by "Over Your Head" in 2014. In 2016 the jazz album "Still" was released. In september 2018 Josh released has latest CD “burn to grow”. josh owns flat v studios and when he isn’t touring he is home producing and writing music with other artists. Josh continues to live in the Los Angeles area with his wife and son. his daughter is now a photographer in the L.A. area.
